SOMCAN Filipino Food Demos

We’re teaming up with our partner, SOMCAN, and some of our food partners to host a series of Filipino food demos. From a vegan version of sinigang to a modern take on lumpia, join our food demos and hone your cooking skills!

JP, JAMES, & KRISTEN of Sarap Shop

This first-gen family team started The Sarap Shop to share the heart of their Fil-Am experience — how food can quickly turn diverse groups of strangers into friends and then into chosen family. They saw the impact bold hospitality and feelings of belonging had on their lives and made it their mission to make it easier for anyone to recreate that magic for themselves. They bring playfulness and nostalgia to their menus, always inspired by people+places they love and always striving to have something for every-vore.

Alex Retodo of The Lumpia Company

Back in the day, Alex Retodo's mom started the first-ever Filipino food booth for their annual church festival. Even though Alex would hook his friends up with free Lumpia, Mama Retodo taught her son how to share the Tender, Loving Care through the power of Lumpia. Today, the Lumpia Company is creating some of the most innovative flavors in the game and giving a classic dish a new life.
